1 Samsung SHS-P718-LMK – Best Push Pull Biometric Door Lock

This attractive looking door lock from Samsung will have you thinking that you have entered the future, not just a door. Available in either a silver or gold color, both deliver a touch of class and elegance.

Samsung uses what they call a Push-Pull concept. This is a fancy way of saying that you don’t need to turn a handle to operate the door. However, the claim of being the world’s first push and pull door lock seems dubious; maybe they are referring to it being digital?

Multiple access methods…

There are four ways to access a door using the Samsung lock. First is using your fingerprint on the sensor located at the top of the lock. Next is by entering a pin code on the lit-up panel that activates when it senses someone close, using IR (Infrared).

The door can also be set to allow access using an RFID card or tag. This would be more suitable for offices or businesses. Finally, using an old tried and tested method, the last option is the manual override key.

Enhanced security…

If you would like an extra level of security, you can set double authentication mode, which requires both a fingerprint and pin code. By making use of that built-in IR sensor, if movement is detected for an extended time, an alarm will sound to ward off intruders.

In the event of an emergency such as a fire or earthquake, the one-step handle can help facilitate a quick escape. And for family protection, there is an In Home Security Feature, which prevents any external intruders by blocking lock operations.

2 Ultraloq UL3 BT – Best App Access Biometric Door Lock

This turn handle door lock from Ultraloq uses various methods to allow access, and at the same time, looks great. It is easy to install, and the handle is reversible and is suitable for both left and right-handed doors.

Ultraloq will fit most doors prepped with a single borehole and a door thickness of between 1⅜ inch and 1¾ inches (3.5 cm and 4.5 cm). An optional deadbolt cover plate is also available for replacing existing deadbolts.

Keeping things simple…

Power is supplied to the lock by three AA batteries. They can be accessed underneath a cover on the internal lock. One set of batteries will give access up to 8,000 times and should last up to an entire year. Plus, the external lock is weatherproof so that it can be used outdoors.

There are four different ways to access this lock. You can use a biometric fingerprint or enter a pin code just like the Samsung lock. There is also the option of the manual override key. But this lock’s main feature is the app.

Take full control…

By installing the app on either Android or iOS, you can have full control over managing access. For iOS users, you can access the door by knocking on your phone. Android users can gain access by shaking their phone.

It is also possible to add and delete users, so you know exactly who has access. You can even grant temporary access for certain dates and times. A log is then recorded in the app so you can keep track of who exactly has accessed the door and when.

So, if you’re someone who likes to manage their lives from their smartphone, this is probably the best biometric door lock for you.

3 iTouchless Bio-matic – Best Looking Biometric Door Lock

If you are looking for a high-tech keyless entry solution with an elegant design, you should consider the iTouchless Bio-Matic. With just the press of your finger or thumb, you and your family can have instant access to your home.

And thanks to auto-lock, you will never have to be driving down the street wondering if you locked the door again. It is remarkably easy to install and will fit most existing door configurations. Just insert the bolt, then screw each side together.

Great memory…

Access to the lock can be gained using either a biometric fingerprint, a pin code, or one of the two supplied master keys. If you are worried about your fingerprint not working, why not add every finger?

With enough memory to remember up to 150 fingerprints, you can be sure to have access when you need them. Up to 78 pin codes can also be set, including temporary codes. Now you can give temporary access for home repairs or deliveries.

Solid build quality…

The lock is made of corrosion-resistant, high-quality steel, providing strength, security, and durability. The optical sensor features a sliding steel cover to protect it from the elements, meaning this is perfect for home entry doors.

Power is supplied by its four AA batteries, and an alert tone will sound when they are running low. There is a choice of two colors, including gold and silver, both of which look great and will add a beautiful touch of class and convenience to your door.

4 Ultraloq UL3 – Best Simple Biometric Door Lock

We have already introduced you to a very similar Ultraloq product, and it was so good we are showing you another. The first lock made use of a companion app and Bluetooth. If you aren’t so technically minded, then you might prefer something a little more straightforward.

You still have three different options for gaining access quickly and easily. These include fingerprint biometrics, entering a pin code, or using the manual key. So, you now have the option to still access a door without the need to carry anything.

Can take on any condition…

Because the external lock is weatherproof, that makes the Ultraloq perfect for use on entry doors. Even the fingerprint sensor uses advanced technology to make it scratch, dust, and waterproof, ensuring easy access at all times.

Up to 95 fingerprints can be saved and will be recognized in under half a second. The lock itself is constructed from a single piece of zinc-alloy, ensuring a long life of strength and durability, offering maximum security.

No peeking…

Ultraloq uses an Anti-Peep Password to prevent strangers from stealing your code. This is often done by noticing worn out numbers or peeking from nearby. As long as you enter the correct password within a more extended set of numbers, you will still gain access.

Power is supplied to the lock using three AA batteries that should last up to an entire year with general use. Setting up codes, saving fingerprints, and entering your password is all done via the clear and easy to navigate OLED display.

5 Tiffane Smart – Best Value Biometric Door Lock

One of the most affordable door locks on our list is the Tiffane Smart lock. And just because it’s inexpensive, that doesn’t mean that you need to sacrifice on features. This sleek and modern lock offers more than most of its competitors.

This hardware will fit over most existing door lock configurations making installation easy. There shouldn’t be any need to drill extra holes, either. Being constructed from zinc-alloy stainless steel ensures the lock is both durable and secure.

Integrates perfectly…

Choose from a range of color designs, including all black, black with silver trim, or white. The lock is attractive and will blend in well with almost any style of door. Interestingly, out of all the locks we’ve shown you, this one offers the most access options.

There are five different options to activate this lock. These include biometric fingerprint, pin code, RFID, master key, or using the companion app. So, no matter which way you prefer, Tiffany has you covered.

Advanced features…

Codes are entered using the backlit keypad that is clear and easy to read, even in the dark. Power is supplied using four AAA batteries. However, in an emergency, power can be supplied via the in-built USB port.

By downloading the free app, you can unlock the door with a smart device. Up to 200 users can be added and managed, controlling who can access the door and when, while at the same time creating a detailed log.

6 WeJupit V8 – Most Secure Biometric Door Lock

Available in either a left or right handle configuration is this well-designed product from WeJupit. No need to worry about losing or forgetting your keys, as you can enter using either your fingerprint or a pin code.

The chip that controls the fingerprint sensor is 100% American made ensuring premium quality. WeJupit uses a semi-conductor sensor, which is one and a half to two times more sensitive than optical sensors often used in other products.

That’s not all…

To ensure accuracy when detecting fingerprints, up to 2,000 points are recognized. Recognition happens in under half a second, giving lightning-fast access when needed. Up to 200 fingerprints can be stored, including ten admins and 190 users.

If you wish the door to remain unlocked, you can hold down the back key for five seconds on the backlit keypad. The door will stay unlocked until you press the back key again, making this device perfect for both homes and shops.

Advanced security…

If you require additional security for accessing certain areas, you can use the combination locking method. Set the lock to require two separate fingerprints, two separate codes, or a fingerprint and a code.

The locking mechanism itself is constructed from 100% premium brass. This not only provides security but also protects from water and rust. Additionally, the lock cylinder uses a double row vane lock core for added strength and protection.

7 Lockly PGD-728F – Best Remote Access Biometric Door Lock

For our final solution to shedding yourself of your house keys, we have this lock from the manufacturer, Lockly. This Bluetooth enabled smart lock adds some extra layers of security some other smart locks lack.

Lockly is easy to install and offers quiet operation but does lack some of the smart features offered by competitors. Available in a Satin Nickel or Black finish, the lock looks great and will look at home on most door styles.

Is there a genie in there?

Lockly uses what they call “Pin Genie” to create an algorithm that randomly changes number assignment on the keypad. This makes it near impossible for somebody to peek while entering the code or recognize wear over commonly used numbers.

There is also a privacy function available that temporarily disables the use of all input types apart from the key. Besides using a pin code or key to gain access, there is also the option of the 3D fingerprint sensor that can save up to 99 fingerprints.

Control access from anywhere…

By downloading their app for either Android or iOS, you can allow access remotely from anywhere in the world. Control the lock from your smart device, add and manage users, and keep track of who has gained access at what time.

Its power is supplied by four AA batteries, which are included. If you find that the batteries have drained, then you can use a 9V battery by placing it on the terminal located at the bottom of the lock to gain access.

Lockly PGD-728F

Our rating:4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Pros

  • Pin genie security feature.
  • Quiet operation.

Best Biometric Door Lock Buying Guide

Tiffane Keyless Entry Door Lock with Touchscreen,Smart Fingerprint Door

We have shown you a wide range of biometric door locks that vary in value and features. What these biometric door locks all do have in common, though, is the ability for you to ditch your keys and access doors quickly and easily.

With so many varieties and differences between these products, how do you know which one is best for you? Well, that is why we created a buying guide. By identifying the major differences, we hope to make that decision a little easier.

To App, Or Not To App?

If you enjoy all things tech, along with being spoilt by overflowing features and options, you probably want an app. Not only does this offer additional user management options, but it also creates a detailed log of who accessed the door and when.

Luckily there are a few fantastic options available for locks with a companion app. These include the Ultraloq UL3 BT, the great value Tiffane, and finally, the Lockly smart lock. Out of these three, the Lockly is the only one that includes remote access, though.

Additional Security Features

While each of these products offers some level of security, some of them go that extra step to keep things secure. Ranging from two-step authentication to using intelligent algorithms, these are the products we recommend you consider.

Samsung offers two-step authentication but only offers fingerprint and code. The WeJupit, on the other hand, takes this a little further, offering fingerprint and code combinations. If that sounds unnecessary, maybe try the Lockly. It uses a “Pin Genie” to randomly change the number locations on the keypad.

By now, if you still can’t decide which product sounds right for you, maybe our final section will get you over the line. Join us as we announce which product we think is the best overall biometric door lock and why.

  1. Samsung door lock works perfectly, the installation manual does work but you need to guess many things to install it, easy to operate and pretty fancy!! I like the fact I do not use any key to enter the house, it has a fingerprint mode, password mode, key tag mode, and regular key, I just use the fingerprint mode, the one I like the most. Thank you for recommending this product.

    • The automatic wake-up feature was appealing, as well. It made the door wake up the moment it detected my presence with its equipped IR sensor. Due to this, it removes the need for any start-up button and creates a more convenient using experience.
