1 Office Chair Mesh Executive Chair with 3D Adjustable Armrest Ro-tating Chair – Best Budget Multi User Ergonomic Office Chair
SmugDesk is up first in this review with their Mesh Executive Chair. This high back office chair is very ergonomic and will leave you comfortable all day long.
We like the mesh for its cooling effects…
It features reinforced mesh fabric that covers the majority of the chair. This mesh fabric really fits the shape of your body and provides excellent air circulation.
Suitable for tall and shorter people…
This chair’s height can be raised and lowered from 17.91 to 21.85 inches from the floor, thus making it great for both tall or shorter people.
When you sit down for the first time on the wide 20.87 by 17.82 inches deep central seat cushion, you will be surprised at how natural everything feels. Once you lean back, you will then notice the high back of the chair along with the adjustable lumbar support and headrest.
The lumbar support works great in this instance and is neither too hard nor too soft. We particularly liked the fact that the headrest tilts, so you are left without any unneeded neck strain as well.
Its 3D Armrests and weight capacity make it great for multiple users…
You might be asking yourself what 3D Armrests are, and so were we when we first heard of them. The two armrests can be adjusted forwards or backward and even horizontally, allowing you to have the most comfortable resting potion possible. You can also swivel the arms inwards or outwards slightly.
The stability of this chair is exceptional and is made to handle up to 300 pounds of weight, making it suitable for a variety of people.
- Adjustable lumbar support.
- 3D Armrests.
- Height adjustable from 20.87 to 17.82 inches.
- Caster wheels could be more durable.
2 Sadie Big and Tall Office Computer Chair, Height Adjustable Arms with Adjustable Lumbar, Black (HVST141) – Best Budget Big and Tall Ergonomic Office Chair
Hon makes this next affordable office chair called the Sadie. Not only is it one of the best on our list, but it is also great for those who are big or tall.
The Sadie comes with a black mesh back and fabric seat cushion. The fabric seat cushion is 22 inches wide by 20.9 inches deep, and it feels slightly firm at first but softens up quickly.
Significant back pressure relief…
Lean back in the chair, and you will find the mesh-covered chair back to be 22 inches wide, and it’s plenty high enough to support the majority of your back. The mesh used stretches quite a bit, allowing for significant pressure relief throughout your back.
Great lower back support too…
Lumbar support with this chair is provided by the wing-type system located behind the mesh cover of the seat. It can be adjusted up and down and works well on your lower back.
You will also notice that the chair will rock if you lean back. This chair can be locked into position to allow for a completely upright angle as well.
We mentioned that this is good for big and tall people as well, and here is why…
You can raise and lower this seat from 19 to 23 inches allowing greater flexibility for even very tall people.
The base is 13 inches in diameter and is made of steel. With the five caster wheels attached, this chair can support up to an incredible 400 pounds of weight.
If you have longer or shorter arms, the armrests on this chair can also be adjusted, leaving your shoulders less tense and your arms more relaxed.
- Adjustable lumbar support wing.
- Durable mesh fabric chair back.
- Able to hold up to 400 pounds.
- Great for big and tall people.
- The chair might feel a bit firm to some.
3 Hbada Ergonomic Office Recliner Chair – High Back Desk Chair Racing Style with Lumbar Support – Height Adjustable Seat, Headrest- Breathable Mesh Back – Soft Foam Seat Cushion with Footrest, White – Best Budget Ergonomic Office Chair With Footrest
This Hbada Ergonomic Office Recliner Chair has a lot to offer at such a reasonable price.
We start with the excellent waterfall seat cushion…
It is made from foam and has a nice springy feel to it. The waterfall design is intended to improve circulation and put less stress on your legs.
The chair back is covered with a high-density mesh fabric and attached to a stylish looking white frame. Since we are all different in shape and size, this chair might not feel as comfortable for you as it did for us.
Why does this matter to me?
Hbada has made this chair very adjustable, allowing you to customize it to your liking and be as versatile as possible.
Once you lean back, you might find the headrest at an unsupportive angle of maybe just too high up against your neck. This headrest can raise and lower, and it can even rotate, allowing your neck to be nice and relaxed throughout the day.
You will also notice that the chair will tilt back at up to a 155-degree angle. Before you lean back, though, you should reach under the seat and pull out the adjustable footrest.
This footrest slides in and out and is easily stowed when not in use. While reclined, you will also notice that the padded armrests adjust to the angle you are at, leaving you tension-free the whole time.
The only problem we had with this was that you could easily find yourself taking a nap in this chair. It is that comfortable.
- It can recline up to 155 degrees.
- Adjustable neck rest.
- Extendable footrest.
- Lumbar support could be more defined.
4 SMUGDESK Executive Office Chair Ergonomic Heavy Duty Adjustable Swivel Comfortable Rolling, Large, Black – Best Budget Ergonomic Office Chair With Headrest
SmugDesk has another worthy contender with its Executive Office Chair.
Once you have a look at the seat, you notice the impressive amount of curve that it has to it. This design is meant to keep you sat deep into the chair while still allowing your legs to hang loosely off the front edge.
The lumbar support on this chair is in a fixed position, but it does flex inwards and outwards, providing quite good overall support.
The high back of the chair features an adjustable neck rest as well. It can move to the left or right, up or down, and even backward and forwards.
Underneath the 20.9 by 20.5-inch seat cushion, you will find three levers. You can adjust the height of the chair from 20.3 inches to 24 inches off the floor.
Tighten or loosen tilt the tension…
You can also adjust the tilt of the chair up to 115 degrees or lock it into a fixed position. Located underneath the seat, you will also find a knob that can tighten or loosen the tension at which the chair tilts.
Like the other SmugDesk chair in this review, you will notice the armrests are entirely adjustable as well. They can move up and down and rotate in and out. You can also slide them towards or away from you.
We felt the plastic armrests were comfortable, but we do wish there was a bit more padding.
When you attach the armrests during assembly, you can actually make them about 1 inch wider from arm to arm. Just make sure you spread them out as far as they go before screwing in the bolts.
- Curvy 20.9 by 20.5-inch seat cushion.
- The headrest position is entirely adjustable.
- Comfortable and high 24.4 by 22.4-inch chair back.
- Armrests could have more padding.
5 Office Desk Chair, Mid-Back Task Mesh Chair with armrest, Executive Drafting Chair for Home and Office, Ergonomic Swivel Chair for Computer Game, Black – Cheapest Ergonomic Office Chair
When you are on a tight budget, this exceptional chair from XISHE is a bargain.
This mesh back chair goes about halfway up the average person’s back. It measures 18.9 inches high and is 18.5 inches wide at the top.
Conforms well to your body…
The double-layer sponge type material used in the central seat cushion is nice and soft. It conforms well to your body and will hold its shape over time.
Lumbar support is adequate thanks to the mesh fabric they have used. It fits snug to your lower back and has decent breathability.
But there’s a catch in the low price point…
Since this chair comes in as one of the cheapest in this review, you won’t find many adjustable features that add to the ergonomics of it. Therefore, personal adjustability is minimal when it comes to this chair. Besides the ability to tilt from 90 to 120 degrees in angle and raise or lower the height of the chair, there isn’t anything else you can personalize.
The armrests are in fixed positions and are made of hard plastic. They are reasonably comfortable and do provide a good amount of relief on your shoulders and elbows.
- Comfy 18.9 inches wide by 21.6-inch deep central cushion.
- Mesh fabric is breathable and supportive.
- The chair’s price point is hard to beat.
- Lacks in adjustability.
6 Topskyfurniture Mesh Computer Office Chair Ergonomic Design Chair Skeletal Back Synchronous Mechanism Hanger Function (Black) – Best Budget Mesh Ergonomic Office Chair
Topsky is rather new to the furniture making scene. This is the first Topsky chair we have ever tested, and it really surprised us at how well it performed.
It features a contoured seat cushion that is rather large, measuring 20 inches wide by 21 inches deep. The padding used in it forms decently to your body, and the shape of it makes it very easy to get in and out of the chair.
Exceptional mesh quality…
At the top of the mesh chair back, you have a 3-way adjustable headrest that supports your head and neck very well. It is easy to adjust even while you are sitting on the chair.
The fabric the mesh is made out of is rather exceptional and leaves your back nice and fresh. It also helps by conforming to your back in all the right places for a good amount of support.
Great lumbar support too…
This office chair has a padded lumbar support type wing that can slide up or down by up to 3 centimeters and is located behind the mesh chair back.
You can adjust this towards or away from your body as well by turning the knob situated behind the actual lumbar wing.
Our elbows complained a little though…
This chair also features 3D type armrests that swivel, go up and down, and even towards or away from you. The padding provided on them is built-in to the actual arms themselves, and you might find them uncomfortable if you rest your elbows on them for a long time.
- Lumbar support can be adjusted in multiple ways.
- Seat height can be raised from 17.5 to 21 inches.
- Chair tilt can be locked into a fixed position.
- Superior mesh quality.
- Armrests are not that soft.
Best Ergonomic Office Chairs Under $200 Buying Guide
We consider a lot, searching for the best of anything, even office chairs.
Buying an excellent chair for the office isn’t that easy. Especially if you are looking to spend less then $200. But, from the moment you sit in an office chair for the first time, you will automatically consider a few things just like we would.
Is it comfortable? Well, the size of the seat cushion will have a lot to do with that…
The central seat cushion and backrest are commonly filled with different types of foam. You will find some seats softer than others, and depending on what you prefer, this can affect the overall comfort of the chair.
A lot of times, you will find that office chairs come with PU leather or some type of bonded-leather. Mesh is also a common covering material used as well.
The material used to cover the seat can affect the breathability of the seat while you sit on it. Mesh is typically the most breathable, but PU and bonded-leather both do a decent job at keeping you cool as well.
Every chair will have different ergonomic benefits. All of these ergonomic office chairs we tested at least provide height and tilt adjustability.
While the height your chair sits off the floor helps in ergonomics and posture, other features are just as important…
We are talking about lumbar support for the most part, but the actual height of your chair back is also essential.
The actual chair back needs to be high enough, so it adequately supports your back and your neck. Having a stiff or sore neck after a long day of work is awful.
Now lumbar support is usually built into the actual back of the chair by making it contoured in shape. With mesh-backed chairs like the ones we reviewed, you will notice that the mesh stretches to your actual body shape.
You will also find some lumbar support systems that are adjustable and can often move up and down, allowing you to fine-tune the position to your body.
Something else that is crucial in comfort and ergonomics is the armrest position and length…
If your armrests are adjustable, they can most commonly raise or lower. Sometimes they can even extend outward or inward toward your body and also swivel. This all helps your arms be more relaxed and remove any unnecessary strain on your elbows or shoulders.
One last thing we take a look at is the weight capacity of the chair. You definitely want a safe, stable chair, especially if you are going to be using it every day.

From the first time we sat down in the Sadie, we genuinely enjoyed the ergonomic benefits of the chair. The seat cushion is broad and deep and very supportive thanks to its thick and plush padding.
Once you lean into the chair back, the mesh conforms well to your body shape and provides excellent air circulation. The lumbar support offers decent adjustability and excels in easing any lower back tension.
Your shoulders and elbows rest comfortably over the wide adjustable armrests. After a long day at the office, this chair will leave you ache-free and more refreshed.
