Both clarity and contrast are excellent. Because of the 100 ANSI lumen, you can watch videos, gaming, or even view pictures of outstanding quality. The sound is equally great, thanks to the 360-degree sound system. You can enjoy watching everything on a 100-inch screen, which isn’t bad for a projector about the size of a soda can.

Easy access through your smartphone…

If you’re a fan of straightforward, easy tech, you will love the Nebula Capsule. It’s effortless to set up and has a great app that you can download to your smartphone. The app turns your smartphone into a controller and also gives you easy access to the projector.

The Nebula Capsule has everything you want and expect from a mini projector.

Our Verdict?

The Ankar Nebula is one of our top choices for the best mini projector. It’s simply excellent and has a reasonable price as well. Sure, it costs a couple of hundred bucks, but it is well worth it. The sound is excellent, and the image quality is outstanding. With Android 7.1 already installed, you have easy access to Netflix or YouTube.

The Ankar Nebula is a great mini projector that is worthy of a place in your home.

Anker Nebula Capsule Mini Projector

Our rating:4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Pros

  • Android 71. installed.
  • Great for video, games, and photos.
  • Great, loud audio.
  • Can use it as an external Bluetooth speaker.

Cons

  • Best used in dark rooms.

2 AAXA P6 LED Mini Projector – Best Travel Mini Projector

The AAXA P6 is also an excellent mini projector. It uses a native WXGA with 600-lumens of brightness. The best thing about the AAXA P6 is the triple RGB LED lights rated to 30,000 hours. This means you won’t ever have to replace the LED light or worry about color degradation.

Great connectivity…

It comes with HDMI, USB, and micro-USB inputs, so you have a good variety of connections. If you want to connect older sources, you can do this via the composite AV connection or VGA inputs. The built-in media player plays videos and images through USB sticks or Micro SD cards.

If you want to improve the sound, you can easily connect external speakers through the 3.5 mm AUX output. The battery is rechargeable, so you can easily set it up anywhere. It’s compact and light, making it great for camping trips or travels. In the right light settings, you can project up to 140-inches. The included remote and mini tripod makes it easy to set up and navigate.

Our verdict?

A great all-around mini projector. It has good image quality thanks to the 600-lumens of brightness. The many connection options make it ideal for any source, and you never have to worry about changing the projection lights. It’s affordable and very reliable. It’s as good for watching movies as it is for businesses.

AAXA P6 LED Mini Projector

Our rating:4.3 out of 5 stars (4.3 / 5)

Pros

  • Compact and lightweight.
  • 1080p resolution.
  • Built-in rechargeable battery.
  • Good data-image quality.
  • Supports memory cards and USB sticks.

  • Video quality is just ok.

3 Optoma ML750 Portable Mini Projector – Best Premium Mini Projector

The Optoma ML750 is one of the more expensive best mini projectors in our review. But it’s also one of the highest-rated projectors. The Optoma ML750 is small and stylish. It’s a WXGA projector that delivers everything you could ever wish from a projector. It even includes features you might not have thought of before.

The DPL technology guarantees consistent colors as well as excellent readability. The high contrast of 20000:1 and fast performance make this a must-have mini projector for gamers.

Powerful and fits in your pocket…

It’s compelling, even though it easily fits into your pocket. It weighs under a pound and has an impressive set of features, including the 700-lumen brightness rating.

It’s easy to use and set up through both auto-Keystone and wireless screen sharing. The HDMI input does, however, require a WUSB adapter. If you use an additional USB Wi-Fi adapter, the ML750 works as a stand-alone wireless PC-free media player, which is great when traveling, and you don’t want to bring your laptop.

What’s even better?

The projector lamp will last 20,000 hours and doesn’t require changing since it’s LED. You can, just as with the AAXA P6, connect external speakers to enhance the sound. It has good sound, but it makes a huge difference in sound quality if you use external speakers.

It includes a remote, as well as every cable you might need. The picture quality is extraordinary and delivers one of the most precise and brightest pictures we have seen.

Our verdict?

The only thing the ML750 is missing is Wi-Fi. Otherwise, it would be a perfect projector. You can still use a Wi-Fi adapter for it, but it will add to the projector’s cost. The ML750 is a great all-around mini projector for anyone who wants a quality product, especially if you are a gamer.

Optoma ML750 Portable Mini Projector

Our rating:4.1 out of 5 stars (4.1 / 5)

Pros

  • Brightness.
  • Flexibility.
  • Picture quality.

Cons

  • No Wi-Fi.
  • Tablet integration requires a dongle.

4 ViewSonic M1 Portable Mini Projector – Best Mid Range Mini Projector

The M1 is one of the most portable WVGA mini projectors available. It also has many great built-in features. The stand, which also doubles as a lens cover, makes it possible to adjust vertically, making it flexible and easy to place no matter where you are. The lens provides a 100-inch screen at a distance of nine feet. And the auto-keystone feature helps eliminate any distortion that may occur.

Use dongles for added connection…

You can use wireless dongles if you want to expand the connection options. You can even connect hand-held devices since it mirrors the content. There’s a built-in Type C port that sends data, audio, and video through a cable. You can even use the C port to charge your other devices.

You can store up to four hours of movies or 16 GB of data on the internal storage device. Six hours of battery life makes it ideal for camping, vacations, and outdoor activities. The Micro SD slot is another useful feature. The speakers provide an excellent, deep, accurate sound, and there is no need to connect any external speakers to it.

Our verdict?

A great mini projector, especially if you are going camping. The adjustable stand makes it perfect and easy to place in most surroundings making this the best portable mini projector in this review. It’s not the cheapest mini projector, but it offers excellent value for money, and you won’t be disappointed.

ViewSonic M1 Portable Mini Projector

Our rating:4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

Pros

  • Compact.
  • Many ports.
  • Adjustable stand.
  • Internal storage

Cons

  • Low resolution.
  • A little dark.

5 J Professional HI-04 Mini Projector – Best Mini Projector for Gaming

The DR. J Professional HI-04 Mini Projector is an excellent option if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a projector. It has sharp and crisp imagery and guarantees a great viewing experience. The video quality and resolution are 1080p, and the details are excellent. It displays a smooth motion, showing off its accurate colors and deep blacks.

Excellent picture quality…

The picture quality is not much different from a flat-screen TV, and with the right aspect and contrast ratios, you can watch it almost everywhere. All the control buttons are found on the top of the projector, making them easy to access. Both the keystone and the focus are placed right beside the lens.

It has multiple connection options with HDMI, VGA, and USB ports located on one side. The opposite side is equipped with a slot for the SD card. One thing, though, is that the USB, for some reason, only supports iPhones, which is a little strange.

40,000 hours and 176”…

The LED lamps are rated to 40,000 hours, which is more than enough never to have to replace them. You can set the screen size from anywhere between 32” and 176” from a distance of 1.5 to 5 m. The only downside is that it lacks a built-in battery.

Our verdict?

A great low-cost option. The 176” screen is also a great feature. All buttons are easily accessed. It’s easy to adjust the settings, but the brightness could be better. You can connect your surround system to it, and it supports a lot of different apps like Netflix, YouTube, and more. It works best for gaming, and home entertainment since using it with PPT, Word, and other office programs isn’t recommended.

J Professional HI-04 Mini Projector

Our rating:4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Pros

  • Built-in USB, VGA, and HDMI ports.
  • 176” viewing size.
  • HD 1080p resolution.

Cons

  • No built-in battery.
  • Brightness could be better.

6 Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector – Best Rated Mini Projector

Everyone that has the slightest interest in electronics knows the name Kodak. It’s a well-known name, and with that comes great expectations. And they deliver. Kodak themselves claim that this is the smallest projector in the world, and they might be right. We haven’t come across anyone smaller. Not yet, anyway.

It’s an excellent mini projector, fully stacked with features. The price is very reasonable, as well. It’s so small that it easily fits in your back pocket. It uses DLP technology, which boosts brightness.

Fantastic sound for a small projector…

The built-in speakers are remarkable. They pump out an incredible sound, considering how small the projector is. And you can set it up almost anywhere. The small size makes it incredibly flexible.

It also has a great set of connection options. HDMI, USB, and micro SD ports ensure that you can connect almost any device available. The Kodak Ultra Mini is plug and play, or should we say plug, project, and play. There are no complicated menus or buttons; plug it in and start watching.

16.7 million colors…

It displays 16.7 million colors, which makes it great for gamers and video enthusiasts. The video quality is impressive, and it gives you lifelike details.

Our verdict?

Well, there isn’t much to say. Clearly, one of the best portable projectors we have tested so far. Everything is high-quality, from sound to image quality. It’s so small that you almost fear losing it. The small size also makes it discreet and easy to take anywhere.

Astonishingly, it doesn’t cost more than it does. The screen size is a maximum of 100”, which might be the only downside, along with the short battery life. But the screen size is still impressive considering the small projector size.

Kodak Ultra Mini Portable Projector

Our rating:4.2 out of 5 stars (4.2 / 5)

Pros

  • Excellent sound.
  • Affordable.
  • Smallest in the world.
  • DLP for excellent brightness.

Cons

  • Only two hours of battery life.
  • So small that you might lose it.

7 LG PH550 CineBeam Mini Projector – Best Value Mini Projector for the Money

Next up in our Best Mini Projectors review, the LG PH550 has a superior glossy design. It looks sleek and has all the expected features of a modern mini projector.

Some great features…

The 2.5 hours of battery life could be better, but it’s more than enough to watch at least one movie. The projector’s video quality is good, thanks to 550 lumens. The HD resolution 1289 x 720 creates a crisp and clear viewing.

The Bluetooth audio output makes it easy to connect external speakers if you want to boost the sound even more.

No need to connect to other devices…

It comes with Android OS already installed, so you can run different apps straight from the projector without connecting to other devices like a computer. You will, however, need Wi-Fi for this feature to work. If you have access to a wall outlet, you can run it on the DC power connection instead of the battery.

There is also an extensive range of connection possibilities with the PH550. Not only does it have USB and HDMI ports, but it has a coaxial cable as well. In addition, it also has a VGA monitor port, which makes this one of the best portable projectors available in terms of connections.

Mirroring function for sharing content…

It also has a mirroring function to easily share your videos, pictures, or movies from your computer or phone. Or simply use a thumb drive if you so wish. The LED projection lamp rates to 30,000 hours, so you and your family can enjoy this mini projector for a long time.

Our Verdict?

The LG PH550 is a great mini projector for gamers, businesses, or homes. The Bluetooth allows you to connect external speakers. The price is a bit on the steep side of things, but this projector delivers. You won’t be disappointed considering it has one of the best image qualities with the 4K resolution.

LG PH550 CineBeam Mini Projector

Our rating:4.6 out of 5 stars (4.6 / 5)

Pros

  • Compact and light.
  • Great video and data image quality.
  • Nice design.
  • A lot of ports.
  • Bluetooth.
  • Built-in TV tuner.
  • Rechargeable internal battery.

Cons

  • Brightness.
  • Need to boost audio.
  • No zoom.

8 CiBest Mini Projector – Best Budget Mini Projector

The CiBest mini projector is a budget version of a mini projector, but don’t let that fool you. It‘s 80% brighter than other mini projectors at the same price. It’s surprisingly good considering the price. The 1080p resolution and 2000:1 contrast provide an incredibly lifelike image, and it works great for both movies and videos.

Protects your eyes…

It has a diffuse reflection technology that makes the image softer while protecting your eyes. And it works with almost any device available; just connect it to your computer, PS4, or whatever you have.

It supports HDMI and USB ports as well as SD cards. It works great for gaming, businesses, outdoors, or in your living room. The big-sized screen varies between 30” up to a stunning 200”, which makes this the most immense screen size we reviewed. But we recommend anywhere between 60-80” for the best image quality.

Good sound that can be enhanced…

The speakers are good and have some effects to choose between depending on what you are doing. If you still want an enhanced sound, you can connect your surround system through the audio output.

It’s relatively small but does weigh a bit, but it‘s still easy to take with you wherever you go. The setup is pretty straightforward, and it comes with some great tools to help you along the way. The LED lights last up to 50,000 hours. The cooling system is excellent, too, and cuts the fan noise in half so that you can enjoy your viewing experience.

Our Verdict?

A good alternative if you are on a budget. It costs less than 100 bucks but delivers the same image quality as many of its more expensive competitors. It’s not the smallest of mini projectors, but it’s still easy to carry around. It connects to almost anything, but you need to buy an HDMI dongle or MHL adapter since those aren’t included.

CiBest Mini Projector

Our rating:4.4 out of 5 stars (4.4 / 5)

Pros

  • Cheap.
  • Great image quality.
  • Maximum screen size 200”.
  • Multiple connection options.

Cons

  • No HDMI or MHL adapter included.
  • Big for a mini projector.
  • Materials feel a bit cheap.

Best Mini Projectors Buying Guide

DR. J Professional HI-04 Mini Projector Outdoor Movie Projector

Before buying a mini projector, there are a few key factors you should know. We have listed them in this buyer’s guide, making your decision easier when choosing the best mini projector.

Brands And Quality

Not all brands create the same quality mini projectors. They can differ quite a lot. Some of the critical factors for a great mini projector are durability, audio quality, the build itself, and of course, the image quality. All the mini projectors we have reviewed all have these traits, so you will end up with a high-quality product no matter which one you choose.

Price And Reviews

Another important thing is the price. Some mini projectors can be costly with costs up and over $700, but plenty of great models are cheaper. And they still have impressive features and fantastic image quality.

Another tip is to look at different reviews about the products. Many manufacturers will boast about quality and performance, but reviews can be an excellent source of unbiased opinions. We always test our products thoroughly and read reviews to see if they have the same view.

What Will You Use The Projector For?

You need to ask yourself if you will use the mini projector outdoors or indoors? If you decide that you will mostly use it outside, you need to buy a projector with a high level of light output. This enhances the level of image quality. Indoor projectors don’t require as much light output, and anything from 500-1000 lumens will do just fine.

Lumens? All through this article, you have heard us mention Lumens. It means brightness. Higher brightness or lumen output gives you brighter images. If you intend to use the projector in an office setting, you should buy projectors with higher lumens because of the indoor lighting.

Resolution And Zoom

The resolution decides the quality of the projected image. The resolution usually ranges from 320p to 4K. If your projector has a higher resolution, the pictures and videos will appear sharper, crisper, and more realistic.

And as you might know, the zoom allows you to change the image size to fit the desired screen size you want.

Last But Not Least, Portability

One of the main reasons for buying a mini projector is portability. You want a compact and lightweight projector. Longer battery life is also a great trait, especially if you are going camping. Anyway, it should be small enough to fit in a bag with ease.
