Using transparency can be tricky when drawing or printing. Due to it being glossy plastic, there are several challenges. Feeding is more tricky due to the slippery nature. Ink has a greater chance of smudging, too, as it doesn’t settle onto smooth surfaces as well.
For these reasons, there are certain things you should look for when buying a printer for use with transparencies. The feeder must be simple and effective, it must print quickly to prevent smudging, and the ink must dry quickly.
To help you make an informed decision, we’ve put together a list of the Best Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies. So, let’s go through them and find the perfect option for you…

Canon Pixma iX6820 – Best Value for the Money Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies
It’s not easy to find the best single function printer these days. They all seem to be going the multi-function route thanks to lower costs and advancements in technology. Canon still has the Pixma iX6820 in their range for those who would prefer a dedicated printer.
It’s well-suited for printing onto transparencies. Not only because of its mechanical capabilities but because of the useful software included. Being a dedicated printer allows for a simplified feeding mechanism and fast printing, resulting in reduced smudging.
High levels of detail…
Instead of the regular four inks, this printer uses five inks. For color printing, it remains the same with the normal Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. It is the black that gets a boost here for even more accurate detail by adding a pigment black cartridge.
Combined with high resolution 9600 x 2400 dpi, you will be pleased with the incredible quality and detail on offer. Also, the Pixma uses tiny ink droplets that not only result in sharp and detailed prints but helps with ultra-quick drying.
Image Garden Software…
With the included software package called Image Garden, there is a range of options available for customizing images. You can add filters for that personal touch and even easily print scenes from videos thanks to Full HD Movie Print.
All your printing needs can be completed via USB or wireless connections. Furthermore, there is support for Android and iOS devices, along with Cloud and LAN services.
Pros
- A standalone printer offers simplified printing.
- Quick printing and fast-drying ink.
- Detailed high-resolution results.
Cons
- No scan or copy feature.
- Single paper tray.

Epson Stylus C88+ – Beset High Resolution Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies
Even though this is an older printer, there is a good reason that the Epson Stylus C88+ remains popular and is still selling. The speeds this printer is capable of will rival most of its modern counterparts.
The biggest advantage this printer has is its smudge and fade resistance technologies. That makes it the perfect solution for screen printing, especially on transparencies. However, being an older design, you will have to go without some options, such as a wireless connection.
Built for speed…
For a printer that was first released in 2001, the speed capabilities are nothing short of impressive. At 23 ppm for monochrome and 14 ppm for color, it still ranks as one of the fastest printers on the market.
Printing isn’t the only thing it does fast. Because of Epson’s DURAbrite Ultra pigment-based photo ink, it dries remarkably fast. This results in less smudging and offers the additional benefit of fade resistance.
Without losing out on quality…
A maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 dpi ensures that results are sharp, accurate, and detailed. Print photo-quality images onto your transparencies that will be sure to impress even the most discerning eyes.
While you do miss out on any WiFi or smartphone support, connectivity is completed via USB 2.0. Also, there are parallel ports for connecting to more than one device at a time.
Pros
- Fast printing capabilities.
- DURAbrite ink reduces smudging and fading.
- High-resolution photo-quality printing.
Cons
- No wireless connectivity.
- High running costs.

Epson WorkForce WF-7210 – Best Wide Format Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies
Are you looking to print transparencies larger than the regular A4 size? If so, the Epson WorkForce WF-7210 is a wide format printer that can print up to 13” by 19” (330 by 482 mm), offering a more versatile experience.
This printer can print quickly and efficiently while still offering printshop quality results. With multiple feed sources, you can easily use this as a screen-printing device and an office printer at the same time.
Quick and accurate results…
Black printing can be completed at 18 ppm and color at 10 ppm, which is not the fastest but still respectable. Making up for the slightly slower performance is the near laser-quality print results with sharp text down to 6 or 7 points.
This printer is somewhere in between a business and a photo printer. This makes it one of the best printers for home use and small business applications. However, you may notice with image printing is that the brightness levels are slightly lacking.
Useful features…
Connectivity can be made using a USB cable, with a huge range of additional options. These include Android and iOS devices, WiFi, WiFi Direct, NFC, and Ethernet. You can print from anywhere in the world when necessary with one of the best wireless printers on the market.
While this printer is capable of screen printing, it can comfortably perform office duties too. There are three feeding options, including two trays that can be configured for different paper types. A well as a rear feeder with a two-sided printing option.
Pros
- Wide-format printing option.
- Great for screen printing and office functions.
- Two-sided printing.
Cons
- Not as fast as other competitors.
- Low brightness levels.

Epson EcoTank ET-2750 – Best Multi Function Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies
While our previous product could perform both screen printing and office tasks, the Epson ET-2750 can do it all. Instead of being a simply standalone printer, it can also scan and copy. If you need one of the best all in one printers, don’t miss the EcoTank ET-2750.
Another trick up this printer’s sleeve is its ink efficiency. The reason it is called the EcoTank is that the ink is refilled using a bottle rather than replacing cartridges. Therefore this print can also save you money along with delivering high-quality transparencies.
Respectable performance…
By adding additional functions, there are usually some sacrifices that need to be made; in this instance, that is printing speed. Black and white is completed at 10 ppm, while color is only 6 ppm. While it’s not terrible, you might be left waiting occasionally.
But all good things come to those who wait, and that is also true in this instance. With a maximum print resolution of 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi, the results are sharp and detailed. That includes both text and images.
Multiple connection options…
Not only can you print transparencies, documents, copy, and scan, all with great results, you can do it from anywhere. And from any device. Connect using USB, WiFi, WiFi Direct, or Micro SD Card, and print from PC, Mac, Android, and iOS easily and efficiently.
The one lacking connection feature is Ethernet support. But with so many other options, it’s not too big a deal. A perfect solution for a small home office that requires regular use without adding too much to budget costs.
Pros
- Low running costs.
- All in one solution for screen and office printing.
- Multiple connectivity options.
Cons
- No Ethernet connection option.
- Comparatively slow printing.

Canon TS5120 – Best Budget Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies
Want the best printer for screen printing transparencies, but don’t want to spend a fortune on equipment? In which case, the Canon TS5120 is a lower-end model that is still capable of providing decent results.
Another all-in-one device that can print, scan and copy at acceptable levels. The printer boasts decent speed, high-quality text printing, but does suffer slightly when it comes to providing photographic images. Still, it is one of the best cheap printers for transparencies.
Keeping pace…
While speeds aren’t out of this world, at the same time, you can keep your patience well intact. Black and white printing can be achieved at a rate of 13 ppm, while color pages print at a rate of 5 ppm.
As far as output quality goes, text was surprisingly very good, being sharp and legible. Graphics were average, which is fine for this price point. Photos were just below average, but by no means terrible. At this value, any higher expectations would be simply unreasonable.
Value-packed…
Connectivity options are vast besides the high-speed USB wired connection. Other options include PictBridge, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, Airprint, Google Cloud, and more. All these print jobs can be completed using the full set of included ink cartridges.
For document printing, there are two options to load paper, including a paper tray underneath and a rear document feeder. Using the rear feeder offers two-sided printing as an added convenience.
Pros
- Affordable screen printing option.
- Multiple connection options.
- Full set of ink cartridges included.
Cons
- Below-average photo printing.
- Slow printing speeds.

Epson WorkForce WF-7710 – Best A3 Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies
We’ve seen single-function printers, all-in-one printers, and a wide format printer. Well, if we combine all these things, we end up with the Epson WF-7110. It also offers a wide variety of connection options, including networking.
That makes the WF-7110 an incredibly versatile printer that can perform screen printing and keep the office running all from one device. This is also the first device we have that offers a fax function in addition to print, scan, and copy.
Print up to A3…
Because this printer is capable of printing up to A3 size, it is a lot larger than other printers. Being capable of performing all your necessary tasks means that you may only need one device instead of two.
For an inkjet printer, printing speed is decent at 18 ppm for black and white and 10 ppm for color. For basic office tasks, you can speed things up even further with Draft Mode. Black and white is boosted to a blistering 32 ppm and 20 ppm for color.
Accurate smudge-free prints…
Thanks to Epson’s PrecisionCore Technology, smaller ink drops are used, which results in more accurate, quicker drying results. When using smooth transparencies, this is a huge benefit in reducing any chance of smudging.
Connecting this printer to your device can be completed in a range of different ways. Of course, there is a high-speed USB along with wireless options. Choose between WiFi, WiFi Direct, Ethernet, and NFC, as well as support for both Android and iOS.
Pros
- A3 wide format printing and scanning support.
- Impressive printing speeds, especially in Draft Mode.
- Multiple connection methods, including Ethernet.
Cons
- No front USB or SD Card reader.
- Paper handling can be frustrating.

Canon Pixma TS9520 – Best Bluetooth Printer for Screen Printing Transparencies
Just like the previous Epson printer, this is Canon’s all-in-one wide format solution. It, too, can provide high-quality results, is packed with features, and can perform printing, scanning, and copying, but there is no fax function.
Even though you miss out on the fax, it does make up for it by offering some additional connection options. It’s not like anyone uses faxes anymore anyway, do they? You also get a choice between a black or white finish on your printer to match your room.
Performs various tasks well…
Besides being able to print 11” x 17” (279 x 432 mm) paper, it can also complete scans of the same size. An ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) makes feeding and scanning multi-page documents a breeze. You will need to flip manually for double-sided, though.
Printing speed is mediocre, though with black and white at 10 ppm and color at 4 ppm. While the document speeds are pretty slow, a 4” x 6” photo can be completed in under 40 seconds. That is pretty reasonable for screen printing tasks.
Bright and vibrant colors…
Photo quality when printing from the Pixma TS9520 is above average with vibrant colors and deep blacks. Color accuracy is also better than most, but falls just short of a professional standard and lacks some precision.
Connection options are extensive, going well beyond just USB and WiFi. Also, you receive Ethernet, WiFi direct, SD Card, and Bluetooth. There is also support offered for use with Android and iOS devices.
Pros
- Wide-format printing.
- Vibrant colors for photos.
- Extensive wireless connection options.
Cons
- Takes a long time to wake up from idle.
- The cost per page is higher than competitors.
Best Printer For Screen Printing Transparencies Buying Guide
With so many different printers available on the market, it can be hard to narrow down which performs certain tasks well. Hopefully, you now have a shortlist of suitable printers for screen printing transparencies.
We have created this buying guide to hopefully make that shortlist even shorter for you. By covering the main differences between these products, along with some considerations you may have overlooked, you can make an informed decision.
Printing size…
If you are only looking to print onto smaller transparencies, then there are plenty of options available for you. If you wish to print larger than the standard A4 size, then your choices will be more limited as you will require a wide format printer.
Three out of the seven products offer wide format printing. The first product being the Epson Workforce WF-7210, is a single function printer, while the Epson WorkForce WF-7710 and the Canon Pixma TS9520 offer multi-function.
Dedicated Printer Or Multi-Function?
Do you already have an office printer or a professional photocopier and are looking for a dedicated screen printing printer? If this is the case, then you will be better off choosing a single function printer, as they offer slightly better performance.
Once again, three of the seven products are single function printers. While the Epson Stylus is now reaching 20 years old, it can still keep up with newer printers. The Epson WorkForce WF-7210 offers a wide format, while the Canon Pixma iX6820 has very fast performance with accurate photo printing.
