If you are looking for a standing desk converter with a lot of space, then this could be the one. It is a traditional design with a ‘Z-frame’ design. If there is a downside to this desk, it is the lifting arrangements…

The ‘Z Frame’ designs seem to take more of a manual effort than the ‘X’ designs. This desk falls very much into that category. To raise or lower, you need to use the handles on the sides of the desk. It does take a little effort and force depending on the weight you have on the top tier. It will rise up to a height of 17 inches above the desk.

You don’t get more spacious than this either…

It has a massive 46-inch work surface on the upper deck of this two-tiered design. Likewise, and continuing the idea of over-sized areas, the keyboard tray is also sizable. The keyboard tray measures 46 inches by 10 inches. This large size is great for working but, of course, has an effect on the weight, and it weighs a bulky 68 pounds.

It has some interesting features, including a groove to prop up your mobile phone. The lifting mechanism is reasonably easy to adjust and carries the weight on gas-powered springs. The newer designs tend to be X-frame rather than Z-frame designs…

The X Frame will rise vertically, and that has a positive impact on the amount of space you will need. Z frames often move out of the footprint of the desk, taking up more space.

How large the work surface is is also important. How much equipment you need will decide that for you. Do you need room for two large monitors? If so, then you will need to choose the dimensions carefully.

But not just the dimensions…

It is also essential to know how much weight the table can carry and still operate. It might have ample space, but can it support what you propose to place on it?

Some desks come with retractable keyboard desks. If you think there will be times when you don’t need a keyboard, check it can be retracted or removed.
