In our opinion, the Logitech MX is one of the best vertical mice on the market. The MX has wireless connectivity, which means it doesn’t get much better than this. In short, if you like a mouse with a vertical design and can live with the price tag, the Logitech MX is hard to beat.

Large enough to accommodate giant hands…

It has an “on the fly” sensitivity adjustment button. It will take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, the MX delivers a smooth and comfortable experience. But the most critical factor is that it feels natural to hold, even if it doesn’t look very comfy.

Customize the DPI…

The build quality is excellent, like with most Logitech products, even if it does feel a touch “plasticky.” The rubberized scroll wheel and DPI button let you customize the sensitivity between 400 and 4000 DPI. The high precision sensor gives the MX precise tracking, which makes it an excellent gaming mouse.

There is, however, one thing worth mentioning. To work in Bluetooth mode, the MX requires BT 4.0, as you are otherwise stuck with the USB/dongle connectivity.

Our verdict…

Because of its bulky shape, the Logitech MX is more of a “love it/hate it” type of thing. We loved it. Even though its price is pretty steep, you get a lot of mouse for your money. The build quality is excellent, it feels amazing, and it is incredibly well designed. The only downside is that it doesn’t have a direct slot for the USB dongle.

The J-Tech V628 is an innovative, ergonomic vertical mouse. We consider it to be a budget option since it is relatively very inexpensive. With that said, it still checks all the boxes for a good vertical mouse.

The V628 is well-designed in terms of ergonomics, and the “on-the-fly” adjustable sensitivity button lets you chose between 600, 1000, and 1600 DPI. Compared to the Logitech MX, it may not seem much, but it is enough for any home or office computer.

The J-Tech also has a removable palm rest and even thumb buttons.

Say goodbye to wrist pain…

The Scroll Endurance created by J-Tech Digital is great for anyone who gets wrist or hand fatigue from using a regular mouse. The design reduces the rotation of the forearm and wrist caused by standard mice.

Just like the MX, the V628 needs some getting used to. J-Tech even advises you to use the mouse for several days just to get accustomed to it. However, once you have it under control, it works great and is very comfortable.

Our verdict…

The design of the V628 is really nice. The neutral “handshake” grip works well to relieve your forearm and wrist. You will have to get used to it, but once you do, it works really well. The tracking is good, and it works on various surfaces. All in all, a good vertical mouse for your home or office, with a price tag that won’t break the bank.

The Jelly Comb is one of the most brilliant ergonomic mice on the market for small hands. A smaller mouse typically means smaller everything, including the arch that supports the palm in your hand. That’s not the case with the Jelly Comb, though.

The Jelly Comb uses a design that reminds you of the handshake. This allows smaller hands to wrap around the mouse without twisting the wrist. It is also a lot more comfortable than the regular-sized mouse.

Effortless clicking and built to last…

The Jelly Comb has a vertical scroll-wheel on the top and two buttons for backward and forward. These buttons are located just above your thumb-rest for easy usage.

It was amazing how easy and effortless it was to click with this mouse. The low impact and high endurance design of the click mechanics are really something else. There are some claims that the Jelly Comb was stress tested with over five million clicks, not something we will replicate. But we’ll take their word for it.

Adjust the DPI with a touch of a switch…

There are three different DPI modes on the Jelly Comb. 800, 1200, and 1600 DPI. The DPI is easily adjusted with a switch located at the tail end of the mouse.

The wireless Jelly Comb uses a single AA battery to operate. Also, unlike many other vertical mice, the Jelly Comb uses 2.4G wireless technology instead of Bluetooth. You simply plug in the tiny receiver into your computer’s USB port, and off you go.

Is the lack of Bluetooth a bad thing?

Some may find it annoying that there is no Bluetooth connection, but the USB connection is extremely stable and works on all devices that have a USB port. When you travel, you can store the receiver in a small slot underneath the mouse, which is a nice touch.

Our verdict…

The Jelly Comb is, without a doubt, an affordable vertical mouse. It is comfortable and ergonomic. The fact that it uses USB connectivity is not a bad thing for all since many aging laptops don’t support Bluetooth. It isn’t the best option if you are a gamer. It does, however, offer great value for money, especially to those with smaller hands.

It also contains most of the ergonomic attributes of an excellent vertical mouse. It will help relieve carpal tunnel syndrome, hand cramps, and finger fatigue.

Perfect for traveling…

Just how compact is the Anker? Well, compared to the J-Tech V628, it is very small. The Anker weighs only 3.3 ounces, which is four times less than the V628. The weight makes it perfect for tossing in your backpack when you are going somewhere. The Anker is also incredibly slim, taking up almost no horizontal space.

Connectivity?

The Anker vertical mouse is wireless, and just like the Jelly Comb, it uses 2.4Ghz frequency and a nano USB receiver. As with the Jelly Comb, just plug in the USB on your computer/laptop and get started. The receiver can be stored away nicely in the storage compartment next to the battery case. It actually fits perfectly with little chance of it falling out even though there is no cover.

However, the Anker is relatively simple with regards to functionality. While web browsing, five buttons let you perform all the basic tasks, including backward and forward. We like that the scroll wheel features ratchet scrolling to evenly scroll through pages of documents or web pages. The DPI switch is nicely located on the top for convenience purposes and lets you switch between 800, 1200, and 1600 DPI.

Our verdict…

If you’re looking for a lightweight, affordable vertical mouse to fit your laptop or take with you on frequent travels, you will have to look hard and long to find a better mouse than the Anker vertical mouse. Anker did an excellent job with the design to relieve the stress of your wrists too.

What To Look For In A High-Quality Vertical Mouse?

The first thing is the ergonomic index. You could look at the highest one and simply ignore everything else, but unfortunately, this might not work. We don’t have an objective standard yet, with regards to ergonomics. Different things work for different people. It is as simple as that.

Vertical mice are designed and constructed to reduce wrist movement since bending and twisting the wrist, bends the channels which your nerves run through. By the way, that’s why people with carpal tunnel syndrome wear a brace. Vertical mice are designed to be braces for your wrist to help to keep them straight.

How To Choose The Ideal Vertical Mouse For You?

Take the vertical mouse that you like. If it is shaped correctly and large enough for your hands, it should be a good fit.

Wired vs. Wireless

When it comes to mice, there is always the wired vs. wireless decision. Basically, it comes down to what you prefer. The difference in the overall performance is minimal between the two.
