1 LOGITECH MX VERTICAL WIRELESS MOUSE – Best Gaming Vertical Mouse

In our opinion, the Logitech MX is one of the best vertical mice on the market. The MX has wireless connectivity, which means it doesn’t get much better than this. In short, if you like a mouse with a vertical design and can live with the price tag, the Logitech MX is hard to beat.

Large enough to accommodate giant hands…

It has an “on the fly” sensitivity adjustment button. It will take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, the MX delivers a smooth and comfortable experience. But the most critical factor is that it feels natural to hold, even if it doesn’t look very comfy.

Customize the DPI…

The build quality is excellent, like with most Logitech products, even if it does feel a touch “plasticky.” The rubberized scroll wheel and DPI button let you customize the sensitivity between 400 and 4000 DPI. The high precision sensor gives the MX precise tracking, which makes it an excellent gaming mouse.

There is, however, one thing worth mentioning. To work in Bluetooth mode, the MX requires BT 4.0, as you are otherwise stuck with the USB/dongle connectivity.

Our verdict…

Because of its bulky shape, the Logitech MX is more of a “love it/hate it” type of thing. We loved it. Even though its price is pretty steep, you get a lot of mouse for your money. The build quality is excellent, it feels amazing, and it is incredibly well designed. The only downside is that it doesn’t have a direct slot for the USB dongle.

LOGITECH MX VERTICAL WIRELESS MOUSE

Our rating:4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Pros

  • Feels incredibly natural.
  • Well designed.
  • Intelligent wireless features.
  • Excellent build quality.
  • Lasts four months on a single battery charge.
  • Adjustable on-the-fly DPI button.
  • Bluetooth and USB Type C.

Cons

  • Expensive.
  • No slot for a wireless receiver.

2 J-TECH V628 – Best Home Office Vertical Mouse

The J-Tech V628 is an innovative, ergonomic vertical mouse. We consider it to be a budget option since it is relatively very inexpensive. With that said, it still checks all the boxes for a good vertical mouse.

The V628 is well-designed in terms of ergonomics, and the “on-the-fly” adjustable sensitivity button lets you chose between 600, 1000, and 1600 DPI. Compared to the Logitech MX, it may not seem much, but it is enough for any home or office computer.

The J-Tech also has a removable palm rest and even thumb buttons.

Say goodbye to wrist pain…

The Scroll Endurance created by J-Tech Digital is great for anyone who gets wrist or hand fatigue from using a regular mouse. The design reduces the rotation of the forearm and wrist caused by standard mice.

Just like the MX, the V628 needs some getting used to. J-Tech even advises you to use the mouse for several days just to get accustomed to it. However, once you have it under control, it works great and is very comfortable.

Our verdict…

The design of the V628 is really nice. The neutral “handshake” grip works well to relieve your forearm and wrist. You will have to get used to it, but once you do, it works really well. The tracking is good, and it works on various surfaces. All in all, a good vertical mouse for your home or office, with a price tag that won’t break the bank.

J-TECH V628

Our rating:4.3 out of 5 stars (4.3 / 5)

Pros

  • Vertical “handshake” design.
  • Good build quality.
  • Comfortable
  • Really works to reduce torsion in the wrist.
  • Thumb controlled buttons.

Cons

  • Only for right-handed users.
  • Not the best choice for gaming.
  • Only three DPI settings.

3 JELLY COMB WIRELESS MOUSE 2.4G – Best Vertical Mouse for Small Hands

The Jelly Comb is one of the most brilliant ergonomic mice on the market for small hands. A smaller mouse typically means smaller everything, including the arch that supports the palm in your hand. That’s not the case with the Jelly Comb, though.

The Jelly Comb uses a design that reminds you of the handshake. This allows smaller hands to wrap around the mouse without twisting the wrist. It is also a lot more comfortable than the regular-sized mouse.

Effortless clicking and built to last…

The Jelly Comb has a vertical scroll-wheel on the top and two buttons for backward and forward. These buttons are located just above your thumb-rest for easy usage.

It was amazing how easy and effortless it was to click with this mouse. The low impact and high endurance design of the click mechanics are really something else. There are some claims that the Jelly Comb was stress tested with over five million clicks, not something we will replicate. But we’ll take their word for it.

Adjust the DPI with a touch of a switch…

There are three different DPI modes on the Jelly Comb. 800, 1200, and 1600 DPI. The DPI is easily adjusted with a switch located at the tail end of the mouse.

The wireless Jelly Comb uses a single AA battery to operate. Also, unlike many other vertical mice, the Jelly Comb uses 2.4G wireless technology instead of Bluetooth. You simply plug in the tiny receiver into your computer’s USB port, and off you go.

Is the lack of Bluetooth a bad thing?

Some may find it annoying that there is no Bluetooth connection, but the USB connection is extremely stable and works on all devices that have a USB port. When you travel, you can store the receiver in a small slot underneath the mouse, which is a nice touch.

Our verdict…

The Jelly Comb is, without a doubt, an affordable vertical mouse. It is comfortable and ergonomic. The fact that it uses USB connectivity is not a bad thing for all since many aging laptops don’t support Bluetooth. It isn’t the best option if you are a gamer. It does, however, offer great value for money, especially to those with smaller hands.

JELLY COMB WIRELESS MOUSE 2.4G

Our rating:4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Pros

  • Affordable.
  • Wireless connectivity via USB.
  • Great value for money.
  • Lifetime warranty.
  • Above-average performance.
  • Easy to use.
  • Smooth tracking.

Cons

  • None really, considering the price.

4 ANKER 2.4G WIRELESS VERTICAL OPTICAL MOUSE – Best Vertical Laptop Mouse

The Anker is one of our favorite “compact” vertical mice. Since the Anker has a smaller profile than most vertical mice, it fits perfectly with your laptop. It also contains most of the ergonomic attributes of an excellent vertical mouse. It will help relieve carpal tunnel syndrome, hand cramps, and finger fatigue.

Perfect for traveling…

Just how compact is the Anker? Well, compared to the J-Tech V628, it is very small. The Anker weighs only 3.3 ounces, which is four times less than the V628. The weight makes it perfect for tossing in your backpack when you are going somewhere. The Anker is also incredibly slim, taking up almost no horizontal space.

Connectivity?

The Anker vertical mouse is wireless, and just like the Jelly Comb, it uses 2.4Ghz frequency and a nano USB receiver. As with the Jelly Comb, just plug in the USB on your computer/laptop and get started. The receiver can be stored away nicely in the storage compartment next to the battery case. It actually fits perfectly with little chance of it falling out even though there is no cover.

However, the Anker is relatively simple with regards to functionality. While web browsing, five buttons let you perform all the basic tasks, including backward and forward. We like that the scroll wheel features ratchet scrolling to evenly scroll through pages of documents or web pages. The DPI switch is nicely located on the top for convenience purposes and lets you switch between 800, 1200, and 1600 DPI.

Our verdict…

If you’re looking for a lightweight, affordable vertical mouse to fit your laptop or take with you on frequent travels, you will have to look hard and long to find a better mouse than the Anker vertical mouse. Anker did an excellent job with the design to relieve the stress of your wrists too.

ANKER 2.4G WIRELESS VERTICAL OPTICAL MOUSE

Our rating:4.2 out of 5 stars (4.2 / 5)

Pros

  • Ergonomic design.
  • Budget-friendly.
  • Compact and slim.
  • Works on most surfaces.
  • Customizable DPI.
  • Good value for money.

Cons

  • Feels a bit flimsy.
  • Batteries not included.
  • Not for people with small hands.
  • Accuracy and tracking could be better.

5 EVOLUENT VM4R VERTICAL MOUSE – Best Medical Vertical Mouse

Evoluent is the original creator of vertical mice. They have more experience than any other company when designing mice that help those with musculoskeletal disorders, like carpal tunnel or even tendinitis. You can even think of the Evoluent VM4R as a medical mouse.

Approved by physical therapists….

The VM4R has a sturdy base with a steep hand area that is sloped about 90 degrees relative to your desk. This keeps the wrist in a natural, untwisted position when using the mouse. A right lip on the bottom supports your pinky finger, so it never scrapes the desk.

The VM4R is the only mouse that has been approved for use by the physical therapists at UC Berkeley.

Optical sensor for people with hand injuries…

The adjustable optical sensor is another feature that eases the use for people with hand injuries. Behind the mouse buttons, there is a conveniently placed rocker. The rocker lets you increase or decrease the speed of the mouse pointer. People with CTS usually benefit from a less sensitive mouse cursor, and with the VM4R, you can adjust the speed with ease.

Our verdict…

There are numerous reports from people who suffer from CTS, tendonitis, and RSI that the VM4R really helps. And yes, the price shows it. This is one of the most pricey vertical mice on the market today. Honestly, the design and clunky profile won’t suit everyone, but if you are suffering from hand injuries, the VM4R is the ideal vertical mouse for you.

EVOLUENT VM4R VERTICAL MOUSE

Our rating:4.4 out of 5 stars (4.4 / 5)

Pros

  • Approved by physical therapists.
  • Excellent ergonomic design.
  • Adjust sensitivity with ease.
  • Unique lip prevents pinky from scraping desk.

Cons

  • Expensive.
  • Takes quite some time getting used to.
  • Feels cheap despite the price.

6 MOJO SILENT BLUETOOTH VERTICAL MOUSE – Best Quiet Vertical Mouse

If you are looking for a dead-silent vertical mouse, look no further. In short, the Mojo Silent Bluetooth has it all. A cool vertical handshake design, Bluetooth connectivity, and it’s as quiet as a… well, mouse.

Seamless Bluetooth connectivity…

If you’re in the market for a vertical mouse and you don’t want to use one of your USB slots, the Mojo is one of the best. It connects to your computer with ease using Bluetooth. This is, however, a computer mouse. It won’t work on most iPads, iPhones, and other tablets.

Perfect for shared office space…

Two AAA batteries give your Mojo up to six months before it needs replacement. When it comes to functionality, the Mojo comes with the six standard button setup. Two primary buttons, scroll wheel, DPI switch, and back/forth buttons. The buttons are dead silent when clicking on them, which makes the Mojo ideal for shared office space. We also like the finish on the mouse, a smooth matt, which looks nice and repels fingerprints.

Our verdict…

There are two things you want to keep in mind about the Mojo before buying it. First, the back/forth buttons for web browsing do not work on Mac computers by default. This can be amended through a 3rd party app, though. Secondly, as mentioned, it does not work with tablets, even if it is a Bluetooth mouse. All around, the Mojo is one of the best vertical Bluetooth mice if you intend to use it with your PC or laptop.

MOJO SILENT BLUETOOTH VERTICAL MOUSE

Our rating:4.2 out of 5 stars (4.2 / 5)

Pros

  • Well designed.
  • Bluetooth connectivity.
  • Silent.
  • Batteries included.
  • Comfortable.

Cons

  • Doesn’t work on tablets.
  • Buttons require a 3rd party app for Mac users.
  • Only suited for small to medium hands.

7 PERIXX PERIMICE-713L LEFT-HANDED – Best Left Handed Vertical Mouse

Last up in our testing is the Perixx Perimice 713-L. This mouse was designed for left-handed people, which is pretty unique in this niche. The Perimice 713-L is an excellent choice if you are looking to buy your first vertical mouse, as it’s highly affordable.

Perfect for everyday tasks…

Considering the price, you get a well-designed, ergonomic mouse with a futuristic look. But don’t let the looks deceive you. The Perixx has been scientifically proven to help with strain injuries. It has six buttons and an on-the-fly DPI switch. Since it is plug-and-play, the mouse will work right from the start without having to download or install any drivers.

Our verdict…

If you’re left-handed, this is the only vertical mouse we’d recommend for you. Overall, a great entry-level mouse.

PERIXX PERIMICE-713L LEFT-HANDED

Our rating:4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)

Pros

  • Designed for lefties.
  • Nice ergonomic design.
  • Wireless.
  • Great value for money.
  • Excellent for first-time users.

Cons

  • Only for lefties.

Best Vertical Mouse Buyers Guide

The first rule is: If you spend countless hours in front of your computer every day, with wrist pain becoming the new normal, buy yourself a vertical mouse as soon as you can. It will also help prevent future strains and injuries, even if you might not have any today.

If you have decided to buy a vertical mouse, there are some things you need to look for.

What To Look For In  A High-Quality Vertical Mouse?

Logitech MX Vertical Wireless Mouse – Advanced Ergonomic Design Reduces Muscle Strain, Control and Move Content Between 3 Windows and Apple Computers...

The first thing is the ergonomic index. You could look at the highest one and simply ignore everything else, but unfortunately, this might not work. We don’t have an objective standard yet, with regards to ergonomics. Different things work for different people. It is as simple as that.

Vertical mice are designed and constructed to reduce wrist movement since bending and twisting the wrist, bends the channels which your nerves run through. By the way, that’s why people with carpal tunnel syndrome wear a brace. Vertical mice are designed to be braces for your wrist to help to keep them straight.

How To Choose The Ideal Vertical Mouse For You?

Take the vertical mouse that you like. If it is shaped correctly and large enough for your hands, it should be a good fit.

  • Wired vs. Wireless

When it comes to mice, there is always the wired vs. wireless decision. Basically, it comes down to what you prefer. The difference in the overall performance is minimal between the two. Since vertical mice, with a few exceptions, are not the best options for gaming, precision/latency and those sorts of things are not an issue. Same goes for optical vs. laser sensors. Most people won’t notice any difference.

With that said, if you are working in a high precision environment, like a graphic designer or a graphic artist, check the DPI sensitivity. Also, keep in mind that laser mice work great anywhere, while optical sensors prefer non-glossy surfaces.

  • Buttons

Another thing to look out for is the number of buttons. At the least, you should pick a mouse with back/forth buttons, as these are tasks performed every day. Also, check how many of them are programable buttons if you require them. Most people are satisfied with the buttons’ default setup, but if you demand more, you may want to check this.

  • The price

This is undoubtedly an essential factor when buying a vertical mouse. Even though the most expensive mouse won’t break the bank, don’t just look at the price when evaluating. Look for the warranty offered as well.

A more expensive mouse with a more extended warranty and hassle-free return is much better than a cheap option that you are stuck with if it breaks after two months. But the main thing that decides which is the perfect vertical mouse for you must be comfort.
