This device from IO Gear consists of a transmitter that looks a lot like a USB drive. Along with the transmitter is a small box that acts as the receiver. Plugging the transmitter into the output device and the receiver into the input device will wirelessly transmit both the picture and sound from one device to the other.
Up to three additional transmitters can be added, meaning the receiver can output up to four different devices. Great for homes, offices, and schools, now you can send data without the need for running unsightly cables.
Video and sound quality…
There is no complicated software or drivers needed; the device is completely plug and play. Once connected, a signal can be sent up to 30-feet (10-meters) from the transmitter to the receiver. All at up to FHD 1080p resolution and maintaining output sound quality.
A remote control is included for switching between devices if you decide to add extra transmitters. If one of those devices is a games console, you will be pleased with the low latency of less than 1ms.
Great for laptops…
If you plan to use this device for sending a signal from your laptop to an additional screen, there is a great feature. You can either mirror or extend the screen. Mirroring will show exactly the same as what’s on your laptop, while extending will offer more screen real estate.
The one thing we regrettably found missing on the device was a throughput on the transmitter. Without this, it means you can’t have both the output screen and the input screen active at the same time. An HDMI splitter can solve this, though.

Missing the throughput on the previous device might have been a deal-breaker for you. Well, this device from Jtech offers a throughput, meaning you can keep watching on one screen while transmitting to another.
A longer transmission distance is also possible, although both the transmitter and the receiver are much larger. There are also two large antennas on each device to help boost that signal strength.
How far can it go?
This system is capable of sending a signal up to 200-feet (61 meters) in a straight line of sight. Not only can it send the signal a longer distance, but it can also be sent between 20-60 kHz, maintaining great frame rates.
A downside to the transmission is the audio compatibility. PCM audio is supported; however, Dolby Digital is not. However, PCM is the superior audio format due to not using compression to send its signal.
Videos or games?
Latency time is between 0.1-0.3 seconds, which is reasonable but not great. This makes the device suitable for video playback. However, it is not really suitable for PC gaming, especially first-person shooters or driving games.

Going the distance…
In a straight line of sight, the signal can be sent up to 330-feet (100-meters). This would be perfect for use in schools, churches, or even homes. The included IR remote receiver and blaster allows you to use the same remote as the source device too.
If using HDMI 2.0 and supported HDMI cables, it is possible to send a 4K UHD 60 Hz signal. This makes watching a 4K UHD Blu-ray movie or streaming Netflix from your PC or console possible in another room.
Is gaming possible?

Uncompressed quality signal…

There are two omissions from the Pro, though, the first one being the IR cable for remote control extension. The second is the passthrough ability on the transmitter. The advantage is the compact size of the Pro does make it more suitable for use with laptops and cameras.
